"The Serpent of Moses" by Don Hoesel

Jack Hawthorne is a man with a mission. He wants to discover the staff that Moses carried, but he isn't alone in this quest. Though he tries to move stealthily, he is discovered and his life is constantly in danger. The Libyans definitely want the staff and are willing to kill anyone in their way. Jack sometimes thinks he should have stayed in his classroom, but then again, can't turn down a quest like this one. While he is hunted by some, he does have allies who come to his aid just in the nick of time. But, is the staff real? Who will end up with it? Come meet Jack, Esperanza, Romeo, Duckey, and the others as they race to uncover the mystery.

This book is the sequel to ""Elisha's Bones," which I am going to pick up and read soon. It is fast paced and filled with historical comments that draw you into the story. You will want to spend more time with the characters and their journeys. It makes good reading for anyone who enjoys books/movies like the "Indiana Jones" series and "The Librarian" series. I received my free copy from Bethany House for an honest review.
