"Distortion" by Terri Blackstock

The Cole family is devastated as death enters their home. Bob Cole is dead, and his wife, Juliet, is left to pick up the pieces with their children. As she begins to deal with the normal parts of life, abnormalities arise. Now she questions whether Bob's death was murder or an accident.

Juliet is in shock. The last fifteen years of her life are in question. The life of the man she had married and loved had been thrown into chaos. Was he really just playing a part? She has to know the answer, not just for her sanity, but also for the safety of herself and her children. As Juliet unravels the threads with the help of her sisters and a Private Investigator, her anguish and anger rise. Was Bob really a drug trafficker? a bigamist? secretly wealthy? a stranger? Come, join Juliet as she works to find the truth about her husband and the life they had together.

Terri Blackstock can certainly tell a story! She drew me in from the beginning and I didn't want to put the book down until the end. I found myself feeling Juliet's suffering. I wanted to help her find the answers to all of her questions. If you enjoy books that pull you into them and ask you to help solve the puzzles, this book is for you. While it is the second book in Terri Blackstock's "Moonlighters" series, it can be read alone. I can't wait for the next book! I received my review copy from Litfuse Publicity in exchange for participation in the blog tour.

ook Info
About the book: Juliet Cole's life has been dismantled by the murder of her husband. She doesn't know who---or what---to trust when everything she has believed to be true about her marriage has been a lie.
A husband's lies can have deadly consequences.
When Juliet Cole's husband of fifteen years is murdered before her eyes, she thinks it was a random shooting. Devastated and traumatized, she answers hours of questioning, then returns home to break the tragic news to her boys. But a threatening voicemail takes this from a random shooting to a planned, deliberate attack.
Juliet realizes that she and her children are in danger too, unless she meets the killers' demands. But as she and her sisters untangle the clues, her husband's dark secrets come to light. The more she learns, the more of her life is dismantled. Was her husband an innocent victim or a hardened criminal?

  1. Donna, I discovered your blog when I posted my review of DISTORTION on the Litfuse site. I noticed that you've also reviewed THE THIEF. I will be reviewing that novel later this week. Now that I've retired from my job as a school librarian, I have more time to read and blog. I also quilt, garden, and spend time at our northern WI cabin. Three of our six grandchildren get off the bus at our house every afternoon, so I still get a taste of homework and kid's lit.
I would love it if you would stop over at my blog Thoughts from Mill Street (http://thoughtsfrommillstreet.blogspot.com) I want my regular readership to grow. I have substantial viewings, but not very many regular readers. I read a lot of blogs and will add you to my list of bookblogs.
