"Detained" by Don Brown

Guantanamo Bay Prison Camp, Cuba; two Lebanese nationals accused of treason, and Navy JAG officer Matt Davis - these are the pieces of Don Brown's newest novel in his "Navy JAG" series. When Matt is challenged with defending these two, he is faced with the challenge of his career. What will he find? Are the Makaris guilty?

Matt Davis enjoys his job as a Navy JAG officer. He is able to fight for justice and truth, but that is tested when he is tasked with defending two men accused of terrorism. Amy Debenedetto, the woman he loves and fellow JAG officer, is tasked with prosecuting them. How will they overcome the obstacles placed in their paths?  Hasan and Najib Makari came to America for freedom, but instead found themselves arrested, charged with treason, and thrown into Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Now they are fighting for their lives with a lawyer they don't know nor trust. Will Matt and the Makaris be able to put their differences away and work together for their freedom? Will they be proven guilty or innocent? Reading this book will definitely push you to fight for one side or the other.

Don Brown weaves a facinating, suspenseful tale. His characters are fully fleshed out, and he pulls his readers in so that they feel for the characters. This book will have you learning a little about what JAG officers do and why they do it. I enjoyed reading the story and definitely want to read more. If you enjoybooks with suspense and the law, this book is for you. I received my review copy from Book Look in exchange for an honest review.
